Terms of Use

Last updated: 14 September 2026

In short

Murmeli is a baby monitor between two devices you own. It is not a medical device and not a safety system, and it does not replace supervising a child.

Scope

These terms cover the Murmeli app and murmeli-babyphone.ch. By using them you agree to these terms.

What Murmeli is

Murmeli carries sound, and optionally video, between two devices you set up yourself. On the same Wi-Fi the transmission is direct, otherwise it goes through the Swiss relay. There is no user account and nothing is recorded.

What Murmeli is not

Murmeli is not a medical device, not an alarm system and not a safety installation. It does not monitor breathing, heart rate or any vital sign. Do not rely on it alone. Networks fail, batteries run out, devices crash — plan so that a failure stays harmless.

Requirements

Two devices with a camera and microphone, and a network. In remote mode both devices need an internet connection. No function can be guaranteed on older devices or weak networks.

Purchase

The full feature set is bought once, through the App Store or Google Play. They handle payment and refunds, not us. There is no subscription and no recurring cost.

Relay service

The relay comes with the app and costs nothing extra. It may be interrupted for maintenance or faults. No particular availability is promised.

Your obligations

Monitor only your own household, or with the consent of the people present. Murmeli must not be used to observe others without their knowledge.

Liability

We are liable for intent and gross negligence. Beyond that, liability is limited as far as the law allows. Mandatory liability, in particular for personal injury, is unaffected.

Changes

These terms may change. The version shown on this page at the time of use applies.

Governing law and venue

Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is the provider's registered seat. Mandatory consumer rights at your place of residence remain unaffected.
